With a new EP due for release on 24 June, Hyde & Beast bring us more of their psychedelic pop with title track Hard Times Good Times.

Dave Hyde (The Futureheads) and Neil Bassett (The Golden Virgins) have continued in a similar vein as last year’s album, Keep Moving, on this single with its fuzzy guitars and great hooks reminiscent of early T-Rex. It’s the punchy brass section that makes this song feel like it’s more about the good times, perfectly complimenting the thumping bassline. I can easily picture a lot of people dancing around in a field to this early seventies influenced romp.

With a sound that lends itself perfectly to festivals, it’s unsurprising that you can catch them at various events in July and at the launch of the EP on 15 August at Sebright Arms, London. You can find all Hyde & Beast upcoming tour dates and watch the video for Hard Times Good Times on their Facebook page.
