If you’re looking for something to get you moving you could do worse than watch the weird, but endearing, video for Dawawine – the latest track from electro-pop artist Elliott Vincent Jones.

The 80s influenced track, reminiscent of Human League at their addictive best, is perfectly complemented by Fucked Up’s Ben Cook impersonating Jones in a fluffy black wig that is as bouncy as the song itself. The video begins with sunlight through trees but it’s not long before Cook is strutting along the downtown streets, taking in the sights, and then he starts to dance. This inescapable movement reflects the fact that my foot is thumping along to this song mere seconds after it starts.

This latest slice of synth-pop from the Toronto-based songwriter builds on the enthusiastic response to previous singles Acapulco and The Faces On The Floor (featuring Talvi Faustmann) and all three tracks feature on his debut EP.

The video also features a brief cameo from Mac DeMarco who Jones will be supporting on his sold-out European tour, including two dates in London – Electric Brixton on 27 June and Koko on 28 June.

The Arto Arto EP is due for release on 10 June via Bad Actors Inc.
