PINS Video Review – I’ll Get Mine

PINS give us another lesson in cool with their arty new video for I’ll Get Mine.

I’ll Get Mine is the b-side of the Manchester five-piece’s 2016 Record Store Day Release – Trouble – and is another slice of scuzz-filled indie complete with addictive riff and swirling synths. Faith Vern’s vocals sound appropriately detached when you view the video, which is a monochrome throwback to the minimalist Factory era.

The video – directed by Sarah Jenny Johnson and Anna Donigan (bassist) – features various people, including the band members, shot for a few seconds in a screen test style. The vintage impression is contradicted by the images of the participants. Dressed in their own clothes, either posing or relaxing, those featured are portrayed as style icons in a modern age with only a few fleeting seconds dedicated to each person’s image.

The band have also shared the remix of Trouble by BERNARD + EDITH, their label mates, which reimagines the single in electro-pop glory with throbbing synths and beats that complement the vocals.

2016 has been another busy year for PINS, but they seem to take it all in their effortlessly cool stride and ensure we’re left wanting more.
