L.A. Witch share their effortlessly cool new single Brian before turning up the heat on tour in the UK in February.

The Los-Angeles based threesome of Sade Sanchez (vocals/guitar), Irita Pai (bass/vocals), Ellie English (drums) have just signed to Suicide Squeeze Records and are celebrating by sharing new single Brian. Originally released on 7” via Greenway Records, it is now nearly out of print – and in danger of becoming a long searched for rarity due to the growing popularity of this trio.

Taken from their forthcoming debut album, due for release later this year, there is much to love about Brian. The reverb-laden guitars switch between a bluesy twang and a grungy chug, reminding me equally of PINS and Hinds. Sanchez’s vocals bring to mind Stevie Nicks at her most laid-back while surrounded by a Velvet Underground haze. It’s unhurried but exhilarating. It’s scuzzy but thrillingly dark and brooding.

L.A. Witch may be from the heat of L.A., but their slow-burning sound is deliciously cool. I’m sure they will bewitch audiences on their tour of the UK next month.
